This is so good. Thank you. My daughter was sexually assaulted by a classmate when they were in the second grade and I struggled with how to explain it to her (and the school principal, who thought my word choice was inaccurate, even though it definitely was) without crossing into this territory.

I’m so sorry your child is experienced that, I hope she’s on a healing path; and glad this post was validating. It’s so prevalent, even and especially among peers. Kids need to understand as part of their healing. ❤️‍🩹 Sending strength ✊

She’s doing great. This was over a decade ago (she’s almost 20 now), and one of the things I’m grateful for is that resources like yours exist now when they didn’t back then.

Another gem Rosalia, thank you. Your scripts for these conversations are so important. This is coming from someone who worked in a hospital-based middle school sexual assault prevention program for many years - the peer piece and screen piece are SO spot on. Thank you. Re-stacking!
