CONSENTletters™- Communication Tools

Use these templates to let adults in your life know about your body safety rules...

Welcome to the Consent Letters training! I’m so excited for you to dive in.

So what are consent letters?

They’re communication tools- essentially templates- that help you set clear expectations with the people in your child’s life, whether that’s teachers, coaches, relatives, babysitters, or medical providers. They take the guesswork out of consent conversations by spelling out what your child can expect from others, and what others should understand about respecting boundaries.

You’ll find seven letters in this program, covering:

  • Medical appointments (pediatricians, dentists, medical specialists, etc)

  • Teachers (plus daycare providers)

  • Coaches (inculding tutors, sensais, etc)

  • Babysitters (Frequent or new)

  • Relatives (grandparents, aunts/uncles, etc)

  • Events (family gatherings, holidays, etc)

Each letter is customizable, and each has a short video lesson (three to six minutes) that walks you through how to use it effectively.

Watch the lesson before using the letter, and make sure to talk with your child about the contents before handing anything out.

These tools work for everyday situations and the awkward ones too, like a family gathering where you’re not sure how to communicate that you don’t require your child to give hugs. You can even adapt the letters into an email if that feels more natural for a particular relationship.

I can’t wait to hear how these work for you. Let’s grow this consent culture together.

See you in the next video!
